Student Rights

Students’ Rights and Responsibilities

1. Students have a right to an education and access to all who are involved in the educational process.

2. Students have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. As in individual, you have the responsibility to be tolerant of all other students in the school and to respect their rights.

3. You have the responsibility to meet school standards and to work to your fullest capacity. You also have the responsibility of keeping your parents informed of your progress in school.

4. You have the responsibility to attend school regularly. Good attendance will contribute to your success in class.

5. You have the responsibility to get to school on time. Lateness to class may affect your grade in that class.

6. You will be loaned a textbook in almost all your subject classes. You have the responsibility to take care of these books. You have the responsibility to return these books when the term ends.

7. You may borrow books and other materials from the school library. Fines may be imposed if they are not returned on time.

8. Robeson students are expected to dress in an appropriate manner for school. Hats are not to be worn in classrooms or any other part of the building. Students must follow dress guidelines established for activities in the gymnasium or laboratory.

9. Students have a responsibility to help maintain and improve the school environment, respect school property and exercise due care while using school facilities.

10. Students are represented by an elected student government.

11. Students must observe the basic standards of cleanliness and good grooming.

12. Student representatives have the responsibility to be knowledgeable of school rules and procedures and for following them.

13. Student representatives shall meet regularly with the principal as part of student-faculty consultative council.

14. Students may exercise their rights of free speech and assembly, as long as they do not interfere with the educational process.

15. Students have the responsibility to refrain from engaging in unlawful acts, including violence, theft, extortion, arson, possession or sale of drugs.
